ANCIENT SPIRAL ONYX AMULET

A talisman and amulet, this one-of-a-kind piece unites the ancient spiral symbolising the flow of life with the protective power of black onyx.

The spiral is one of our oldest symbols.

A pattern found all throughout nature, throughout the cosmos, the spiral holds meaning which we have always carried with us. 

This spiral is hand-hammered and forged, set with a black onyx at its centre. 

I selected black onyx for its protective qualities—a natural chalcedony gemstone which has been long revered as a stone of transmutation and protection against negative forces.

I created this spiral out of thick solid silver wire, with a beautiful weight to it, to honour the ancient spirals that have been found since prehistoric times. It is deliberately primitive and organically shaped. 

This amulet-talisman is intended to honour the sacred spiral, and to ground and protect the wearer on life’s journey.
