The Crow Shark—Squalicorax—was one of the Mesozoic era's most formidable apex predators, patrolling the ancient marine seaways of the Cretaceous Period between 66 and 145 million years ago. Squalicorax, meaning "crow shark," is derived from the Latin word for shark and the Greek word for raven or crow.
Discovered within the prehistoric strata of Morocco, the stunningly preserved fossil specimens of this shark tooth on which the pendant is based, serve as an unyielding testament to strength and survival.
