HEXAFOIL & CINQUEFOIL REVERSIBLE AMULET PENDANT

Amulet of protective geometry.

The Hexafoil & Cinquefoil Amulet is a dual-sided pendant. 

The Hexafoil is an ancient apotropaic symbol used for centuries in Britain and across Europe to ward off negativity. 

Although it is known as a ‘witch mark’ or ‘daisy wheel’ in the UK, it is a truly universal symbol. It is known around the World as a cosmic solar symbol and as the infinitely repeating pattern of the “Flower of Life” which symbolises all of Creation. Its interlocking six-fold pattern acts as a shield of absolute harmony. 

Turn the amulet over to reveal the Cinquefoil. In sacred geometry and medieval heraldry, the five-lobed emblem represents the microcosm, the five elements, the human body, the five senses. The Cinquefoil was worn in medieval times as an amulet and a talisman for protection and good fortune.

The Details:

❖ Solid recycled eco sterling silver (.925), Hallmarked

❖ Brushed silver finish

❖ Pendant diameter is approximately 25mm, with a total length of approximately 31mm including bail

❖ Pendant sold without chain, comes with a complimentary silk tie in a neutral colour for versatile styling

❖ Featuring a traditional six-fold Hexafoil on one side and a Cinquefoil on the reverse

The Making: 

This piece was created by casting directly from a real antique token from the 1600s found in England, to perfectly capture its unique form and design, blended with traditional hand fabrication silversmithing techniques. These are age-old processes, and the aesthetic is raw and rustic, to evoke the feeling of an unearthed or found artefact.
