This piece carries an ancient lineage. In Mesopotamia, the crescent and star honoured the gods of wisdom and love—Sin and Ishtar—balancing the cosmic scales. From the Byzantine era to sacred pre-Islamic stones, these motifs have served as amulets of divine protection for millennia.
I first hand-carved the crescent moon with a focus on rugged lunar textures, then added the burst of starlight line by line.
