The Dreamer Earrings are a talisman of the dreamworld.

In the Late Bronze Age, the Minoan Poppy Goddess was crowned with poppy seed pods. She was revered as a bringer of sleep and healing. 

In Greek mythology, poppies were connected to Hypnos (god of sleep) and Morpheus (god of dreams). 

I captured the texture of real poppy seed pods in the silver, preserving their natural patterns. The resulting motifs of the poppies have been arranged so that the cross hangs with a beautiful imperfect symmetry. 

The design is a nod to the 'four-petal' geometric symmetry seen in Pictish silver-gilt brooches, where motifs with various textures and patterns were arranged to achieve a sense of visual equilibrium. 

The Dreamer Earrings are rich in symbolism, and feel like a beautiful discovered artefact.
