The Thalassa Ammonite & Baroque Pearl Earrings are beautifully mismatched, and evoke the untamed spirit of the sea. In Greek mythology, Thalassa is the divine female personification of the wild and beautiful oceans.

Each asymmetrical earring features an Ammonite in solid sterling silver. People have regarded Ammonites through spiritual and folkloric lenses since ancient times. They have been worn for magical protection, seen as symbols of Gods, and carried as talismans of good luck over the ages. To create these earrings, casts were taken from an actual fossil unearthed along the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, capturing the beauty created over 140 million years ago. The Ammonite’s outward-growing spiral is a talisman for personal growth and evolution.

Hanging from each Ammonite is a Baroque Pearl. These are named after the Portuguese word barroco, meaning an imperfect or misshapen pearl. These are pearls in imperfectly stunning, irregular shapes and are made by natural processes, which ensures that no two sets of earrings will ever be the same. These earrings feature 'fireball' baroque pearls.

The Making: These earrings were made by casting directly from a real fossil to perfectly capture its rare form, blended with traditional hand fabrication silversmithing and jewellery making techniques. These are age-old processes, and the aesthetic is raw and rustic, to evoke the feeling of an unearthed or found artefact.
